Which vaccines are required for my dog in order to stay at a Wag Hotel?

For our canine guests: Wag Hotels requires three vaccinations for our canine guests: Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella.  If the Bordetella vaccine has never been given, or has expired, it needs to be administered at least 7 days prior to arrival at any Wag Hotel. You or your veterinarian office can easily fax these to:

  •  (916) 373-0656  for West Sacramento reservations, or
  •  (415) 520-9377  for San Francisco reservations.

Which vaccines are required for my cat in order to stay at a Wag Hotel?

Feline guests are required to have current Rabies, FELV and FVRCP. Proof of vaccines must be submitted to a Wag Hotel prior to your feline's arrival. You or your veterinarian office can easily fax these to:

  •  (916) 373-0656  for West Sacramento reservations, or
  •  (415) 520-9377  for San Francisco reservations.

Why does Wag Hotels require the Bordetella vaccination to be administered 7 days prior to arrival to check-in if it has expired or has never been administered?

Our 7 day policy ensures that guests with little or no immunity have not been exposed accidentally and infected with an illness while visiting their veterinarian to get vaccinated. While seemingly stringent, this innovative approach to disease management has helped greatly reduce the occurrence of kennel cough at Wag Hotels.

My female dog is in heat. Will you still accept her at a Wag Hotel?

An additional fee is added to the room rate for this program ($35/day in West Sacramento & $40/day in San Francisco).

For non-holiday periods, Wag Hotel's cancellation policy is three days prior to arrival. Reservations created within 10 days prior to check-in for holiday periods and subsequently cancelled also will result in a $100 charge to the credit card on file per guest.  The cancellation policy is more stringent during holiday periods because we typically have to turn away potential customers during this time.

Please see our rates section for Daystay Rates. All Day Play, alternatively, is open from 7 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week. All Day Play includes open play time with compatible dogs that have also been approved for All Day Play. See the All Day Play section of our site for more information.

Do you offer grooming even if my dog is not currently staying in your hotel?

Yes. We offer any grooming service to fit your pet's needs. An appointment is required. Please contact our reservations department for breed specific rates and availability.
